The Dash Philosophy

We believe the most meaningful charitable gifts begin with purpose.

Philanthropy is not simply about transferring assets and getting a tax deduction. It's about expressing values, strengthening communities, and leaving a legacy that reflects what matters most.

The "dash" concept, the small line between birth and death dates, symbolizes a person's life and legacy. We believe philanthropy is one of the most meaningful ways to define that dash. At DashPoint, we help individuals align wealth with purpose, ensuring that their legacy is one of significance, generosity, and lasting influence.

Meet Our Founder

Jamie Meehan

For more than 37 years, I had the privilege of helping individuals and families navigate some of life's most important financial decisions. Over time, I came to understand that many people begin asking a deeper question:

How can I use what I've accumulated to leave a legacy that reflects what matters most?

That question inspired the next chapter of my career.

After retiring in 2024 as a Managing Director - Investments with Wells Fargo Advisors, I founded DashPoint Philanthropic Advisors to help individuals and families align charitable giving with their values, purpose, and legacy.

The name DashPoint is inspired by the small dash that appears between a person's birth and death dates. While the dates mark the beginning and end of life, it is the dash that tells the story of how we choose to live, serve, and impact others.

My mission is to help people make that dash matter through thoughtful, intentional philanthropy.

Throughout my career, I witnessed firsthand the profound satisfaction that comes from aligning financial resources with deeply held values. Effective philanthropy is about more than writing checks - it is about creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and leaving a legacy that reflects what matters most.

 Experience and Education

My professional background includes more than three decades of advising individuals and families on comprehensive financial planning and wealth management.

I hold the CFP® certification (Certified Financial Planner), and I am a former CPA. I earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning.

 Community Involvement

Serving others has always been an important part of my life. I currently serve as:

  • President of the Florida Alpha PDT Foundation, supporting the Phi Delta Theta fraternity chapter at the University of Florida.
  • Member of the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale and active participant on its scholarship committee.
  • Member and immediate past chair of the Summer Residents Advisory Committee, Town of Chatham, Massachusetts.
  • Volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Redeemer Parish in Chatham, Massachusetts.
  • Active with the Rotary Club of Chatham, Massachusetts.

These experiences continue to reinforce my belief that meaningful change begins with people who choose to invest their time, talents, and resources in the lives of others.

I would be honored to help you align your charitable giving with your values, clarify your purpose, and create a legacy that reflects what matters most.
